When we work directly with the client (groups or individuals) the sky is the limit. As long as it is practically possible, we can arrange it. You have the choice of creating a private group holiday complete with bus, driver and private guide or just ask us to put together an exciting itinerary and drive yourself. Private holidays are purchased directly from Slow Travel Africa (South African bank account), priced in Rand and you arrange your own flights. For examples of tours that we have produced, see below. All tours can be tailor-made to your requirements, and the price differs depending on what type of accommodation you prefer, how many you are and how long you want to go for. Once we know your requirements, we will prepare a personal quotation for you. For more inspiration, go to Tailormade Holidays.
The tours offered by Slow Travel Africa's tour operator partners are perfect for individuals that would rather travel in a group, and meet new, likeminded people. This tour starts in the bustling township Soweto, where you explore on foot together with a local guide. You then go east for a couple of unforgettable hikes in the mighty Drakensberg. Continue to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi, a Big 5 game reserve where you will hike for 4 days and sleep under the stars. This is a true wilderness adventure, where you are accompanied by armed rangers, and have to take turns minding the fire at night (to ensure that no wild animals stray into camp). It will definitely create memories for life! In the colourful coastal city Durban, a local guide will take you to the markets and lesser visited areas. Learn more about the dominant groups of people here, the Zulu and the Indians, and experience a riot of colour, sounds, smells and tastes that all define this exciting city.

Away from the Crowds
The Garden Route is an iconic South African destination. However some places are rather crowded and, to be honest, more tourist traps than fantastic experiences. In this itinerary, we’ve excluded these and focussed on the things that the Garden Route does best: exceptional nature experiences, good food & wine and unusual wildlife. You will explore both well-known destinations and hidden gems. All accommodation is 3-4 star, and picked for its unique locations as well as comfort.
This an itinerary for the curious person who wants to experience South Africa's iconic destinations while still having a unique experience.
This itinerary can be reversed, starting in Cape Town and ending in Port Elizabeth.
