The Cape Gannet is a large and beautiful seabird, found predominantly along the South Africa and Namibian coast. Over the last 50 years, the population has sadly decreased by almost 85%... The best place to view these beauties is Bird Island in Lambert's Bay. This is one of only 6 sites worldwide where this bird breeds, and the only one accessible to the public. Tens of thousands of birds nest here; it is breathtaking, noisy, smelly and simply amazing!
